Sportch, the app revolutionising the way players connect and compete, is entering an exciting new phase of growth and development.

Founder, Josh Foster, issued the following announcement:

“As the original founder, I am proud to announce that I’ve made the decision to step back from my leadership role, passing the reins to our incredible Technology Officer, Noel da Costa.

This decision hasn’t been easy, but with two young children and significant commitments elsewhere, I know it’s vital to ensure that my personal bandwidth doesn’t inadvertently inhibit the growth of Sportch. As we move into this next chapter, I’m confident Noel is the perfect person to lead Sportch forward. His innovative vision includes some truly exciting developments including a reimagined player interface designed to foster even greater connection and engagement.

Reflecting on my journey with Sportch, it’s been an incredible experience. From those early days of late nights planning our first release to launching during the challenges of COVID, I couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come. The countless matches we’ve facilitated and the connections we’ve helped create are a testament to the app’s impact and potential.

Jamie, who has been with Sportch since 2022, will also be stepping back to focus on other opportunities. He has played a key role in organising the first Sportch tours, revamping the website and managing day-to-day operations. I want to thank him for his time and effort in helping Sportch reach a position for Noel to take it to the next level.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of our journey up to now… Carl, Gavin, Jamie, Dom, and Noel — your dedication and belief in Sportch have been invaluable.

Now, I’m excited to watch Sportch flourish under Noel’s leadership. With that, I’ll hand over to Noel to share his vision for the future of Sportch.”

Noel, who on 26th January became the majority shareholder and sole director of Sportch, expressed his excitement for the future:

“I’m excited to be taking over the reigns at Sportch. Over the past year we’ve worked hard to ensure the platform has a strong base from which it can grow. I look forward to seeing what we’re able to achieve in the future.”
